School Development Plan (SDP)

The SDP focusses on improving outcomes for our children, and covers all aspects of our school. We focus on key areas that we consider will have the greatest impact on all our pupils. These areas are decided by analysing information that is drawn from many different sources, e.g. pupil conversations, teacher assessments, parent feedback, test results, Local Authority, DfE & Ofsted reports, and the most up-to-date research.

The priorities are shared with all staff, parents and governors. The governors play a critical role in ensuring we regularly review our progress and work within our agreed timescales.

As well as the SDP, all staff produce subject leadership action plans annually which address the development and monitoring of the specific subjects that we teach.

Our priorities for the current year:

  • To implement an English curriculum that is specific, well sequenced and taught to be remembered.
  • To develop and implement an approach to secure fluency in multiplication facts.
  • To improve pupil automaticity in blending and whole word recognition in Phonics.
  • To develop our offer of extra-curricular clubs and activities.
  • To develop and implement inclusive teaching practices.
  • To foster a culture of high engagement and wellbeing in pupils and staff.
  • To introduce a new system for tracking and monitoring assessment data.
  • To continue to respond to the financial crisis through prudent financial management.
