At Caldecote Primary School, our Design and Technology curriculum encourages children to become creative thinkers, problem solvers and innovators. Through designing, making and evaluating products, pupils learn how to apply practical skills and technical knowledge to solve real-life problems and create purposeful products. 

Throughout their time at school, children develop their understanding of materials, structures, mechanisms, textiles, food technology, electronics and computing. They work through the design process by researching, planning, building, testing and refining their ideas, learning from both successes and challenges along the way. 

Our curriculum promotes creativity, resilience and independence while helping pupils understand how design and technology shape the world around them. By the time they leave Caldecote, children are equipped with the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to design, create and evaluate innovative solutions to a range of challenges.
