At Caldecote Primary School, our Geography curriculum inspires children to develop a curiosity about the world and an understanding of the people, places and environments that shape it. We begin with our local area, helping pupils explore and appreciate their community, before broadening their knowledge to include the United Kingdom, Europe and the wider world. 

Through fieldwork, map reading, enquiry-based learning and the use of digital technologies, pupils develop the skills needed to investigate and understand both physical and human geography. They explore topics such as weather and climate, rivers, mountains, rainforests, settlements, globalisation and environmental change, while learning how places are connected and how people interact with their environments.

Our curriculum encourages children to ask thoughtful questions, analyse evidence and develop informed opinions about the world around them. By the time they leave Caldecote, pupils are confident geographers who can use maps, fieldwork and geographical knowledge to understand local, national and global issues.
