Eco Councillors
Our Eco Schools work focusses on promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the school community, with the aim of developing pupils' understanding of their role in protecting the planet and increasing their involvement in activities to improve sustainability.
What do our Eco Council do?
Each class nominates one pupil to be a member of the Eco Council. These pupils attend regular meetings to discuss key issues within the school and plan new initiatives and upcoming events. Following their meeting, they give feedback to their class, gathering further thoughts and opinions. The Eco Council contribute to school assemblies by sharing information, reminding children of their eco responsibilities and encouraging involvement in upcoming activities.

What initiatives are being led this year?
The Eco Council leads initiatives to reduce waste, conserve energy, and enhance the school’s green spaces. We are working towards renewing our Green Flag Award! So far this year, we have held the following initiatives:
- Waste Free Lunch
- Community Clear Up
- Switch Off Day
- Cut your Carbon Challenge
Our work extends beyond our Eco Council. We have a whole school rota for all children to take part in monitoring: energy, recycling (collecting paper from all areas of the school), water usage and litter control.
