Online Safety

At Caldecote Primary School, we recognise that the internet, mobile devices and digital technologies provide children with exciting opportunities to learn, create, communicate and explore the world around them. Technology is an important part of modern life and developing strong digital skills helps prepare children for their future education, careers and everyday lives.

While the online world offers many benefits, it can also present risks. The digital environment is vast, fast-moving and constantly changing, making it essential that children learn how to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully. Promoting online safety is therefore a key part of our safeguarding responsibility.

We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, staff and governors are able to use digital technologies safely and confidently. Through our curriculum, assemblies, workshops and everyday classroom practice, we teach children how to stay safe online, protect their personal information, communicate respectfully, recognise potential risks and know what to do if something makes them feel worried or uncomfortable.

Our Online Safety Policy explains how we keep children safe when using technology in school, the systems and filters we have in place, how we educate pupils to become responsible digital citizens, and the procedures for reporting online concerns.

You can view our Online Safety Policy under the Policies section, found here.
