Physical Education
At Caldecote Primary School, our PE curriculum inspires children to develop a lifelong love of physical activity while building the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to lead healthy, active lives. Pupils take part in a wide range of activities including gymnastics, dance, games, athletics, swimming and outdoor adventurous activities, with learning carefully sequenced from Reception through to Year 6.
We are committed to ensuring that every child can participate, achieve and enjoy success in PE, regardless of their starting point. Alongside developing physical skills such as coordination, agility, balance, strength and teamwork, pupils learn about the importance of exercise, healthy lifestyles and positive mental wellbeing.
Through lessons, competitions, festivals and inclusive sporting opportunities, children are encouraged to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, show resilience and demonstrate respect and fair play. By the time they leave Caldecote, our pupils are confident, active and enthusiastic participants who understand the value of keeping physically and mentally healthy.
