PSHE & RSHE
At Caldecote Primary School, PSHE & RSHE plays a vital role in helping children develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to lead healthy, safe and fulfilling lives. Our curriculum, based on the PSHE Association framework, and supported by the excellent Pol Ed resources, supports pupils' personal development and is underpinned by our commitment to being a nurturing school that promotes both physical and mental wellbeing.
Through carefully planned learning, children explore relationships, health and wellbeing, and life in the wider world. They learn how to build positive friendships, understand and manage their emotions, stay physically and mentally healthy, keep themselves safe online and offline, and become responsible, active members of their communities. As pupils progress through the school, they also develop an understanding of diversity, equality, financial education, careers, citizenship and preparing for future life.
Our PSHE curriculum encourages pupils to develop resilience, empathy, respect and independence while promoting our school values and British Values. By the time they leave Caldecote, children are equipped with the confidence, decision-making skills and personal responsibility needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
