Junior Travel Ambassadors

Junior Travel Ambassador Scheme

At Caldecote Primary School, we are proud to have our Year 5 pupils take the lead in the Junior Travel Ambassador scheme. This exciting initiative empowers our pupils to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable travel within our school community.

What is the Junior Travel Ambassador Scheme?

The scheme is designed to encourage pupils to think about how they travel to and from school, promoting walking, cycling, scooting, and using public transport as healthy and environmentally friendly alternatives to car travel. Our Year 5 Ambassadors are trained to lead by example and help raise awareness among their peers and families about the benefits of active travel.

Our Year 5 Ambassadors' Role

  • Leading campaigns and activities that encourage healthier travel choices.
  • Organising events such as Walk to School Weeks and Bikeability sessions.
  • Sharing tips on road safety and responsible travel.
  • Working with staff and local authorities to improve travel routes and safety around the school.
  • Gathering feedback from pupils to help shape our travel policies and initiatives.

Why It Matters

By taking part in the Junior Travel Ambassador scheme, our Year 5 pupils develop leadership skills, responsibility, and a sense of community. It supports our vision of fostering healthy, happy pupils who are engaged and enthusiastic about making positive choices. The scheme also contributes to our commitment to creating a supportive and respectful school environment where everyone works collaboratively.

We are delighted to see our Ambassadors making a real difference, inspiring the whole school to travel more safely and sustainably.
