School Council

The School Council empowers pupils to have a voice in the decisions that affect their daily school experience. It encourages leadership, collaboration, and democratic participation, helping pupils develop communication skills and a sense of ownership over their learning environment. Each class nominates one pupil to be a member of the School Council.

What does the School Council do?

The School Councillors gathers pupil views, represents their interests, and works with staff to improve school policies, activities, and wellbeing. They attend regular School Council meetings to discuss key issues within the school and upcoming events, and report back to their classes.

Although Mrs. Lydon organises the school council, it is very much run by the pupils.  They decide the agenda, lead discussions, take minutes and make decisions on actions.  The school council is always involved in the appointment of new staff, any major changes, e.g. school dinners, and other events such as Children in Need.
