Raising Attainment Plan (RAP)

The RAP focuses primarily on raising outcomes for our children.  We focus on a small number of key areas that we consider will have a positive impact on raising attainment for all our pupils.  These areas are decided by analysing information that is drawn from many different sources e.g. pupil progress, SATs results, teacher assessments, DfE & Ofsted reports, research studies, etc.  These priorities are shared with all staff, parents and governors.  The governors play a critical role in ensuring we regularly review our progress and work within our agreed timescales.

As well as the RAP, all staff produce subject leadership development plans annually and these address the many other areas of the school that need to be monitored and developed.

In 2018 - 2019 we are working the following priorities: 

Ø Writing: to improve boys' writing so their achievement is on a par with girls

Ø Writing: to improve accuracy of spelling in free writing focusing on key words learnt in weekly spellings

Ø Writing: to continue to develop GPS teaching across school so attainment is in line with other core subjects

Ø Maths: to focus on developing mental calculation strategies with a focus on multiplication tables and arithmetic

Ø Lunch & Break Times: to continue to develop our provision with a wide range of social and physical activities

Ø Computing: to review whole school provision focusing on online safety and use of the Starz learning platform

Ø Caldecote Curriculum: develop a humanities curriculum that progressively develops skills and knowldge

Leaders of all subjects have plans for the development of their subject across the school.  They are regularly reviewed and  monitored along with the link governors.
