Meet the Governors

Who are the governors at Caldecote Primary School?

There are five different types of governors

  • One local authority governor, who is appointed by the local authority. This position is currently held by Dominic Hordern.
  • Parent governors, who are elected by the parent body. The current parent governors are Renu Martingale, Robert Monk and Cristina Turner.
  • Staff governors, who are elected by the staff of the school. They include the Headteacher, ex officio, and Natalie Martin.
  • Co-opted governors, who are appointed by the Governing Body and selected for their particular expertise. The co-opted governors are:  Mary-Ann Claridge, Kate Duncombe (Vice Chair), Suzy Reed,  Pippa Smith,  and Kevin Vanterpool (Chair of Governors) We currently have a vacancy for a co-opted governor.
  • Associate Members are asked to serve for a fixed period as they bring specific skills and experience to the governing body. We currently have two Associate Members, Rebecca Snelling and Lesley Whitehead.
  • The Clerk to the governors is Vicky Miles

Between us, we have a range of skills and experience which we bring to the Governing body: We have governors who work for the NHS and the Police Service, a qualified accountant, a marketing consultant, a solicitor, a data scientist and an electronics technician. We have people who have taught at primary schools and a specialist in heritage education.
