Art Recreation

You may recall that in July, a parent, Nicky Wallis, suggested we got involved in an art recreation project between John Lewis and the Fitzwilliam Museum. Lesley Whitehead and Emily (Year 4) were 'models' for local painter Stuart Catterson, who recreated the Fitzwilliam Museum's painting of Le Repas by Pierre Bonnard. On Friday 8th November Sarah Ingram from John Lewis and Tracy Harding from the Fitzwilliam Museum came to our Friday assembly, where we were presented with the painting as a gift to the school together with a copy of the orginal. Stuart, the artist, also attended and held a very interesting Q&A session with the children.

We now need to decide where we are going to hang our 'masterpiece'!
