Spoilt for choice

Every day there is a choice of homemade soup, followed by a main course.  Children can choose their 'main' - which can be the vegetarian option if they like the look of it – and they are always encouraged to have vegetables, or salad if they prefer.  They can, of course, have both! 

When they have finished they decide what they would like for dessert, with a choice of a prepared option (e.g. fruit crumble and custard), fresh fruit, yoghurt or cheese and biscuits.  The fresh fruit is sliced into 'child' size portions and they can have a selection.  A popular choice is fruit (grapes, pineapple, melon) plus a yoghurt.  Again, as it is self-selection they choose.
